"Just because she works so hard," he said about his mom. In a "Fast Talk" segment during a press conference on Thursday, Green was asked who or what is his greatest motivation and the Houston Rockets player quickly answered: "My mom." Behind every great man is a great woman, and for Filipino-American NBA player Jalen Green, that woman is his Filipino mom.

Filipino-American guard Jalen Green is deeply appreciative of the support and love he has gotten from Filipino fans throughout his young basketball career.

"Coming to the Philippines, everyone gives so much love and support," said Green, who traces his roots to the country through his mother. On Thursday, Green got to meet some of his fans at the adidas brand center in Glorietta 3. This is his third visit to Manila: in 2018 and 2019, he played for FilAm Sports in the National Basketball Training Center Tournament.

While he had it easy with words like “masaya,” “takbo,” and “buhok,” it was different when the word “patawarin” was given to him. To cap the challenge, he was asked if he understood the phrase “Bababa ba?” and delighted everyone when he answered it correctly. Jalen was able to answer four out of five words given to him.
