Tekken: Bloodline season 1 review - worth the wait (Ready Steady Cut)

This review of the Netflix anime series Tekken: Bloodline season 1 does not contain spoilers or any major plot points.

With the release schedule unclear, the anticipation for news on a continuation will be waited on with bated breath. There is no requirement to play Tekken 3 and onwards to understand the story. It has a gritty, emotional origin story, following Jin Kazama from a child to adulthood, enduring the apparent death of his mother due to a demon, and then venturing out to the world to find his grandfather Heihachi Mishima for training to avenge her death. And I suppose, admittedly, when I saw that was the case, I immediately looked forward to it. For some reason, the human race cannot get video games represented right, and there needs to be a discussion as to why. Not following canon appeared to have benefited the Paramount series.

Tekken Bloodline Review: Fun Generic Action-Packed Nonsense (Leisurebyte)

Tekken Bloodline is a fun and inoffensive show that will entertain many with its smooth fighting scenes and homages to the game series it is based on.

The opening theme is great, and the various homages to the games make up for any of its flaws for fans of the game, who are the target audience that it wants to appeal to. The show has a lot to offer for fans of the Tekken franchise. It was slow, predictable, and uninspiring, especially during the introduction of Heihachi to the show. The story of this show is also somewhat taken from the plot of Tekken 3, which features a similar situation with Jin and his mother, and Heihachi’s plan to bring down the Ogre using the tournament as bait. Oh well, at least you have a semi-decent soundtrack to make up for it that does its job well in hyping you up for the upcoming battles. Paul Phoenix also had a decent showing, and the friendly rivalry between Hwoarang and Jun was perhaps the best thing about the protagonist. All that this show needed to be was a vehicle for that tournament, and it would have been a great watching experience. However, as far as paying homage to the video game it is based on, the series gets full points. The plot twist at the end was also heavily predictable and tonally inconsistent with the rest of the show. The show was quite barebones with its worldbuilding, never moving beyond the three static locations it chose to feature. His quest will lead to the ultimate battle on a global stage — The King of Iron Fist Tournament.” The original video animation (OVA) is being produced by Netflix and developed by

Every 'Tekken: Bloodline' Character and Voice Actor in the Netflix ... (We Got This Covered)

Some beloved fan favorites from the video game are set to appear in the anime with more casting announcements to come.

The longest-standing female character in the video game series, Nina has appeared as a playable character in all of the main installments. The ruthless assassin is also one of the most popular female characters in video game history. Ling Xiaoyu is one of the most popular female video game fighters and has been praised for her unique abilities and skills, personality, and strength. Though he was considered a protagonist in the original Tekken, Heihachi is the central antagonist for much of the franchise and has appeared in every main game released. The South Korean Taekwondo expert has been a mainstay in the franchise ever since his first appearance in the popular Tekken 3. She will be voiced by actress and singer Mamiko Noto, who has been the voice behind the character since Tekken Tag Tournament 2 in 2013.

Jin proceeds to win the tournament and even defeats Heihachi by partially embracing the effects of his Devil Gene. As mentioned above, the anime is a loose adaptation of ‘Tekken 3.’ There are four more games in the main ‘Tekken’ series and multiple spin-offs as of August 2022. If ‘Tekken: Bloodline’ manages to replicate even a portion of the success of ‘Castlevania,’ there is a legitimate chance that it will get a second season. Heihachi deduces that this is the work of Ogre and decides to host the Third King of Iron Fist Tournament, telling Jin that it will draw the entity’s attention. Jin Kazama lives a relatively peaceful life in an island community with his mother, Jun, who teaches him the Kazama fighting style and the philosophy that goes along with it. The story begins in the intermediate period between the timelines of ‘Tekken 2’ and ‘Tekken 3’ before becoming a loose adaptation of the latter game.

'Tekken: Bloodline' Netflix Series Review - A Video Game ... (Moviesr.net)

The anime series follows Jin Kazama and his quest to become one of the best fighters in the King of the Iron Fist tournament.

Overall, concept-wise it is very simple, and is decent in its execution., but that is not what you judge a series on, its main attraction remains the authentic fighting experience. I actually cannot imagine the show working out this well with any other animated style, that is essentially suited to its selling point the action, which is not unnecessarily included, and for the most part, serves the purpose of the story. The same fundamentals are brought back in the anime platform that doesn’t mess around and brings the joyful feel of the action, with the difference in the fighting style of each player complementing well regarding the matchup of the opponent.

In ‘Tekken 4,’ set 20 years after the events of ‘Tekken 2,’ it is revealed that Kazuya has been brought back to life by the biotech firm G Corporation. Heihachi makes it clear to Jin that if he wants to fight Ogre, he must become the King of Iron Fist. He thought if the boy survived the fall, it would mean that he had inherited the gene from his mother. In the form, he once more defeats his grandfather but stops short of killing him, remembering his mother’s words. Julia reveals to Jin that Heihachi was the one who unleashed Ogre on the world. Jin’s triumph against Heihachi leads to the return of Ogre, whom Jin must defeat in the season finale. As the season ends, Jin flies away in his devil form, just as he does at the end of ‘Tekken 3.’ Jin subsequently makes his way to the headquarters of the Mishima Zaibatsu. After failing for four years, Jin eventually manages to bring his grandfather to his knees, signaling the completion of his training. He tells Jin that he believes that Ogre feeds on the energy of the fighting spirit, so it’s unlikely that the entity will be able to resist the tournament. Through Kazumi, Kazuya’s late mother and Heihachi’s wife, Kazuya, and Jin are members of the said family and possess the Devil Gene. Following his mother’s last instruction, Jin comes to stay with his paternal grandfather, Heihachi Mishima, who begins teaching him the fighting style of their family so he can exact revenge for his mother’s death someday.
