When the court takes a recess, the Mayor asks Mi-ho what's going on. In a different room, Ji-hoon and the VIPs are seated with Prosecutor Choi. They realise ...
We switch to a scene with the Elder burning Seo’s paper in a bonfire. With the promise of a new life in New York, Choi gets her to hand over the real data card with Seo’s paper. The report seems to be normal but Joo-hee tells Mi-ho to resign or the hospital will report her. A flashback to the day of the crime shows that the phone call made by the VIPs was, in fact, to Mayor Choi! But this is exactly why it’s a tad disappointing to see him return to prison in this episode itself. This is the same person that initially hid them in the ground in the first episode. Mayor Choi arrives and gives the Elder Professor Seo’s secret paper along with the original file. He says he is doing it only for the Elder. In the hospital, someone gives Jerry a small piece of paper. In a different room, Ji-hoon and the VIPs are seated with Prosecutor Choi. But the defendants cleverly worm their way out of it with a video taken in public of the three trying (pretending) to resuscitate Professor Seo. But someone with a tattoo of Big Mouse’s symbol takes the paper away.

Moving on to Chang-ho – guys, how cool did he look sitting in that random van in front of the courtroom? At Joo-hee’s office, she is handed the blood report of Nam Ki-sung that she had submitted in the last episode, and apart from Ki-sung being RH+, nothing seems to be out of order. As he leaves, he mentions that he needs to be spotless for all of them to see the light of day. Do I wish for the series to hold on to the truth behind Big Mouse a little longer? Curiously, Ji-hoon asks him to invest in a property that he is building to give him back the money that he stole. Unfortunately, though, Soon-tae, Gi-gwang and Hye-jin are being beaten to a pulp, and just as Ji-hoon tries to take Hye-jin with him forcefully, Do-ha arrives and helps the three of them get out of a tough situation. The next day at Gucheon University Hospital, Mi-ho learns that all of the previous patients were discharged and new patients are on their way. The biggest boss move is when the screen goes up in front of the courtroom, and Chang-ho is revealed to be sitting behind it, looking fine as heck. We’ll just have to wait to know the answers to all of these myriad questions. However, the biggest shock comes to us viewers when we learn that Do-ha was behind it all – he has the money, Jae-young’s papers and orchestrated this entire thing – but for what? At recess, Ji-hoon and his minions realise that they are unable to find Chang-ho, and after a verbal spat with Do-ha, Hye-jin asks Ji-hoon to meet him as soon as possible with the divorce documents. Everyone is shocked at where this is going, especially when Ji-hoon tells Hye-jin that the three of them didn’t kill Jae-young for a random academic paper.
