Player Ratings: Real Madrid 2 - 1 Real Betis; 2022 La Liga (Managing Madrid)

A plethora of great individual performances with Tchouameni and Militao particularly impressive in the team's first home win of the season.

Dani Ceballos—8: A fireball of energy off the bench. Then makes a late arriving run into the box from the right half-space and lays off the game-winning assist. Mere seconds after coming on, hounds the opposition and wins the ball high up the pitch. It was a lively match with the two Brazilian jewels — Vinicius and Rodrygo — scoring the goals. Luka Modric—7: So fun to watch the little Croatian work his magic. Tchouameni—9: Incredible performance from the Frenchman in his debut at the Santiago Bernabeu. Combined well with Benzema and Vinicius Junior. Won 10 of his 50/50 duels, 6 aerial duels, had 4 interceptions, and game high of 7 tackles completed. Earned the pre-assist on the game winning goal, finding Valverde’s run in the box. Then swung a mouth-watering cross into the box on a short corner play. Earned the love and affection of his new fans. Defensively was a mess: lost track of Canales on the goal and was skipped past by Alex Moreno to earn the throw-in which led to the goal.

It's a match between the only two perfect teams in La Liga as Real Madrid face Real Betis in Matchweek 4 at the Santiago Bernabeu.

[All the action from Real Madrid vs. Real Betis can make this a close game, knowing they would likely not survive a shootout with Real Madrid's attacking firepower. They haven't lost on the road to Real Madrid since 2017. -145 / +115 +115 / -145 There was only one goal scored across the two matches in which both sides faced off in league play last season. Goalkeeper Claudio Bravo and forward Willian Jose are officially registered and will be hoping for their first minutes of the season. Los Blancos also get Nacho Fernandez back on the bench, and his return will be handy with reserve defender Jesus Vallejo out. The match from the Santiago Bernabeu will kick off at 16:15 local time on Saturday afternoon. Qualification to the Champions League is critical to boost the Verdiblancos' budget in future seasons given their limited budget. If last season's head-to-heads are any indication, it should be a tight encounter at the Bernabeu. Madrid, who will be playing their first home game of the season, have conceded in all three matches, but goals from stars Karim Benzema and Vinicius Jr.

Real Madrid vs. Real Betis result: Vinicius, Rodrygo help defending ... (Sporting News)

The only two teams still with perfect records to start the 2022/23 La Liga season face off at the Santiago Bernabeu when Real Madrid welcome Real Betis.

32nd min.: Real Madrid are the more dangerous of the two sides now. But Real Madrid came on strong as the minutes went by and they had Betis on their heels in their own box. On a throw-in into the Real Madrid box, Iglesias lays it off to Canales, who fires past Courtois. 95th min.: In stoppage time there's a controversial play in the Real Madrid box. Real Betis kick us off. Real Betis remain threat on the counter. Teammate Borja Iglesias laid the ball off to him in the box, and Canales unleashed a first-time shot that beat Real Madrid 'keeper Thibaut Courtois. For a squad with a budget like Real Betis, game management is a key path to gain an edge and snag a result or two against the big boys. Manuel Pellegrini's side would've benefited from his attackers at least winning a foul or two and giving his team a breather to reduce the pressure of the multiple waves of Madrid attacks. As Real Madrid grabbed control of the game, a few runs out of midfield could have helped finish off an attack or two. The visitors started the match well, but after they were denied on a penalty shout, they conceded the opener to Real Madrid's Vinicius Jr. Real Madrid is the lone perfect team left in Spain's La Liga after four matches of the new season.

Real Madrid 2-1 Real Betis: Player Ratings as the Betis curse ends (The Real Champs)

It started with Betis outplaying the hosts until Vinicus scored a stunning goal courtesy to a sublime assist from David Alaba, following which Betis dropped ...

The Spaniard was stable in defence and likewise in offense. He was confident from the start and had improved awareness in filling spaces and went for responsible tackles that did not give the opponent an advantage. David Alaba was more active in attack than defence, but he wasn’t poor at either, just better at the former. That was pretty much it from the Frenchman. The player has failed to maintain a clean sheet this season, yet none of the goals have come as his fault. A crisp performance from last season’s winners, who have now grabbed all the points available in the first four league games this season.
