Season Preview: Terance Mann's growth will be crucial for Clippers (Clips Nation)

Well, this is the story of the Los Angeles Clippers and the 'Mann' behind the 39 points: Terance Mann. Drafted as the 48th pick in the 2019 NBA draft, Mann wasn ...

His size and shot give him the flexibility of playing as either a shooting guard or a forward. These types of slumps could be what stops Mann from making an impact on the floor and, subsequently, doing bigger and better things for the Clippers. If he can knock down 3s as well as he did then — 42% — he will be much scarier of a weapon for the Clippers. This means two things: Los Angeles a variety of options that can cater to Lue’s needs, whether that’d be going small or keeping a more traditional lineup; on the flip side, it also means the players might get lost in the competition for minutes. Building off last season, the third-year Clipper will look to be playing 25+ minutes each game. Naturally, the team’s needs gravitated towards the Clippers’ one-two punch of Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, so Mann was limited to just under 9 minutes per game.

It looks like Los Angeles Clippers star Kawhi Leonard is not only in a good place physically, but also mentally.

Surely, it might be difficult to have him playing heavy minutes right off the bat. He missed the whole of last year due to his ACL injury, but as what we’ve seen in recent photos and videos, he’s As everyone knows, the Clippers forward doesn’t show emotion that often, but it’s definitely a good sign that he seems to be doing just fine off the court.

The LA Clippers Have Signed Three New Players (Sports Illustrated)

The Clippers are rounding out their training camp roster with three free agent signings.

Making three MVC All-Defense teams, including two MVC DPOY awards, Williamson is a proven stopper on that end. The 2021 ACC tournament MVP also knocked down 39.3% of his shots from deep in college on just under five attempts per game. An Exhibit 10 deal is a single-season NBA contract for minimum-salary, that allows teams to convert the contract into a two-way deal before the regular season begins. Per Smith, the Clippers signed Michael Devoe, Keaton Wallace, and Lucas Williamson to Exhibit 10 contracts. In those games, Wallace averaged 18.1 PPG, 5.7 RPG, and 5.2 APG. With one two-way spot available, the Clippers will likely be looking to fill that spot with one of the three players just recently signed.

Trending Topics: Will John Wall or Patrick Beverley have a bigger ... (NBA.com)

Assessing whether John Wall (Clippers) or Patrick Beverley (Lakers) will help their team the most in 2022-23.

If Wall can make some big plays on the biggest stage (or if his inability to shoot hurts the Clippers in a big spot), that will matter more than what Beverley did for a team that (as it stands) doesn’t look like it can make it beyond the first round. [Mark Medina:](https://www.nba.com/news/writers-archive/405/mark-medina) Patrick Beverley will have a bigger impact than John Wall as a new guard in Los Angeles. [Shaun Powell:](https://www.nba.com/news/writers-archive/26/shaun-powell) Both guards will supply an element that each team needs — Beverley is bringing the spice, Wall the playmaking — but purely from a talent standpoint, this contest is a runaway. [John Schuhmann:](https://www.nba.com/news/writers-archive/22/john-schuhmann) Beverley is more important right now because he’s the Lakers’ best backcourt defender and also because he’s shot 40% on catch-and-shoot 3-pointers over the last three seasons (505 total attempts). [Brian Martin:](https://www.nba.com/news/everything-you-need-to-know-about-2023-nba-rivals-week) This boils down to what is more valuable: the higher upside of a former All-Star in Wall, or the know-what-you’re-going-to-get reliability of Beverley. Beverley is a defensive pest and when he’s not hounding opposing guards and making hustle plays on defense, Beverley can spread the floor as a reliable 3-point threat (a career 37.8% 3-point shooter).
