This trailer teases a huge adventure that appears to stretch across Japan as our heroine must close a series of doors…or face horrific consequences. Ahead of the film’s release in November, the second trailer has been released for Suzume no Tojimari (Suzume’s Door-Locking), the first film from director Makoto Shinkai in three years. As she gets in touch with people across the country and continues to close the doors one by one, she leaves behind the promise of meeting them again. Elsewhere, the cat stands against an evil backdrop while speaking about the upcoming disaster that is going to kill a lot of people. Mesmerised by an invisible power, she opens the door which leads to the opening of “Doors of Disaster” opening all across Japan starting a series of disasters. Unable to ignore the man who has turned into a chair, she sets on a journey to find the cat. Next, we see Sōta running behind the cat while Suzume follows the two, but is told off by him when she finally catches up. With Kenichi Tsuchiya as the animation director, Nanoka Hara and Hokuto Matsumura have given their voices to the main characters Suzume and Sōtarespectively.

17-year-old Suzume lives in a quiet town in the Kyushu region in Japan. TikTok star Toaka is singing the theme song, which is titled “Suzume” – which means sparrow. CoMix Wave Films is animating the movie.
