How can you watch Rick and Morty season 6, episode 5? What can you expect from the upcoming episode on Adult Swim? Find out right here.
As Rick and Morty is an Adult Swim-exclusive series, the fifth episode of the sixth season can be watched on TV on Adult Swim. Jerry and Rick will spend most of the episode trying not to kill each other while also attempting to complete a mission. The episodes are also available to buy on Amazon Prime Video after they premiere. From the trailer for season 6, episode 5, this is going to be a Rick and Jerry episode. They eventually gave their bodies back to their owners and stopped existing. It was like the writers saw Jordan Peele’s Us for the first time and created the episode based on that.
Incest has a rich history in the series (hello, Giant Incest Baby) but it hasn't been presented quite like this before. Plot snapshot: After a fortune cookie ...
The love of Rick’s life sacrificed to protect the future of the universe? Jenith Padrow-Chunt: The leader of Fortune 500, clearly modelled after Gwyneth Paltrow and her “one-woman lifestyle brand”, inexplicably transforms into a deformed monster after Rick fulfils her fortune of becoming the most successful business woman on Earth. As shown in the post-credits sequence, Jerry’s addiction to eating the Zebra snacks is no longer an abnormality, as the rest in attendance riot and kill each other when the supply runs out. As a black hole opens, Rick sacrifices the monster and the power of unlimited fortunes to save Jerry from having sex with his mother. This leads to a showdown against Jenith’s guards (armed with “fighting fortunes”) and an imprisoned alien, who has a digestive disorder which is creating concrete outcomes. If season six wasn’t already a return to form, Rick and Morty quashed any doubts in episode five (‘Final DeSmithation’) with an undercover heist adventure propelled by Jerry’s fear of sexual relations with his mother.
Jerry and Rick go on a dumb adventure that's cleverer than it seems.
“Final DeSmithation” reminded me of the sentient sperm episode in how brazenly stupid and over-the-top it all is but, unlike the sperm episode, I laughed a bunch and found the escalating ridiculousness charming in its bonkers creativity. (However, the post-credits tag joke, which features the rest of the family, is overlong and brings the episode down a tad.) Rick having to keep Jerry safe like he’s a dumb, defenseless puppy throughout the episode is cute as are his occasional attempts to joke around with Jerry and lighten the mood. You can harness the power of the pooping fate monster by writing what you want to happen on a slip of paper and then putting it inside a pooped-out fortune cookie? There’s also the possibility that Jerry might end up having sex with his mom floating around for nearly the entire episode runtime, but it’s only theoretical up until she actually shows up in the final act, at which point events transpire such that we are eventually subjected to Jerry and his mom’s blurred-out sex organs having a near-collision. So it’s sort of surprising that “Final DeSmithation,” another entry in the “unapologetically dumb” category of Rick and Morty episodes that also happens to feature the concept of incest looming over everything, is actually a lot of fun to watch.
However, instead of trying to change their fate and avoid death, in “Final DeSmithation,” Jerry (voiced by Chris Parnell) is facing a crueler horror, as destiny ...
Rick and Jerry continue investigating Fortune 500 until they uncover the origins of the fortune cookies’ power in the basement. That’s a lot of knowledge to dump over Jerry, especially to make fun of his fortune cookie emergency. - One of the weird fortune cookies Old M. Rick frees the Lockerean, and the creatures devour both Jennith and Old M. Jerry tries to run away, while destiny takes his pants off, rips his mother’s clothes, and even lubes the poor woman. We have come a long way since Rick pretended to hate Jerry, and while the scientist is still stubborn and self-centered, Rick cannot help but show some signs of affection from time to time, even towards Jerry. Jennith single-handedly raises Fortune 500 from the ground up and now sells multimillionaire passes to people wanting to join her inner circle and uncover the truth about her luck. Rick makes his peace with the drug ring, apologizes for killing so many goons, and takes a Fortune 500 truck to infiltrate the company with Jerry. As soon as they get to the Fortune 500 garage, it’s clear the place is protecting some dark secret. Meanwhile, Summer (voiced by Spencer Grammer) and Morty (voiced by Roiland) do what they can to torture their father, sending photoshopped pictures of naked models with Jerry’s mom’s face attached to them, or locking Jerry in the closet with a puppet of his mother. Not even bullets can harm Jerry before he has sex with his mother, leading Rick to use him as a human shield through “Final DeSmithation.” The episode starts at Panda Express, where the Smiths are having a nice family dinner while Jerry tries to appear culturally respectful and makes a racist comment.
Fortune favors Rick and Morty fans, though not Jerry, with a dose of crass humor that lands as intended.
[season premiere misled some Rick and Morty fans](https://gamerant.com/rick-and-morty-season-6-biggest-revelations/) into thinking they would get more resolution to the protagonist’s conflict with Rick Prime, this type of randomness is obviously welcome. [Besides his MultiVersus incarnation, this Rick](https://gamerant.com/multiversus-rick-release-date-move-set/) packs a ton of firepower and implanted gadgets, yet Jerry’s temporary immortality due to his unresolved fate combined with Fortune 500 bringing over his mother do steal the show. The comedic twist is handed by the creature’s caretaker as the Fortune 500’s CEO and its forces barge in as poor Rick [wonder why Nintendo won't release a VR set](https://gamerant.com/nintendo-switch-vr-potentional-labo-headset/). With such an absurd setting, this premise has no business working as smoothly as it does, except that it actually manages to stay funny for the whole runtime, without incurring in the more gross and desperate attempts of [Rick and Morty](https://gamerant.com/tag/rick-and-morty/) has pretty much deviated from that path in subsequent entries, instead relying on its writers' sheer imagination to consistently put together the kind of plot that’s made it such a hit. That deadly premonition is the product of the family’s visit to Panda Express, where Jerry is caught off guard by the worst fortune cookie ever, amidst laughter from Morty, Summer and Beth, however, while still dismissive, Rick isn’t as unencumbered.
