A little over one year ago, the Ryckmans from Pennsylvania went on their own pilgrimage, taking a relic of Blessed Carlo Acutis to various parishes in ...
His canonization cause began in 2013 and in 2020 he was declared beatified. Carlo took his computer talents to another level: For two years, he documented all the Eucharistic miracles reported throughout the world and putting them onto a website he created before his death. Because he was already hospitalized, Carlo could not attend, but since that date, the exhibit has traveled worldwide, touching the lives of many. Carlo never had siblings, and in the beginning, he had little contact with other children, so when he started school, interacting with others was a challenge. Apparently, his friends found Carlo’s piety amusing but he was always respectful and caring of others. He also spent summers with his maternal grandparents in a village near Naples, Italy.
Antonia Salzano Acutis has now published a book collecting memories of her son, Bl. Carlo Acutis.
Jesus was the center of his life. The Infinite was his goal, not the finite. Many people ask me what is the secret hidden behind the figure of my son Carlo, who in a few years has been able to win the friendship and affection of a multitude of people who ask for his intercession in prayer.
Jointly published by Voyage Comics and the Augustine Institute, this book brings to life the story of a normal, likable boy who is inspiring the world.
The book on Carlo follows a nice selection of Catholic comics produced by Voyage. Today he is in Assisi, in the Shrine of the Stripping, and his heart is in a reliquary in the Basilica of St. Know that Jesus is a great friend and that the sacraments are great means. The things of the earth are things that pass away and will no longer exist. So we continue this tradition of the Church. Let us never forget that all this is a work of the Lord. He didn’t do it for his personal glory but for the glory of Heaven. When the leukemia started, he came to the hospital and said, “Mom, I’m not going to make it out of here alive, I want you to know that, but I’m going to send you lots of signs.” He was very serene, always with a smile; he never complained. Yes, I had this inner feeling in front of the relic of the veil of the Virgin Mary, in your beautiful cathedral of Chartres. Therese of Lisieux, her parents were the great educators; in the case of Carlo, the roles were reversed. At the age of 9, he was reading computer engineering textbooks that he had bought at the Polytechnic University of Milan. He’s a source of inspiration for young and old alike, often cited by the Pope himself as a model to follow.
