Bleach's Thousand Year Blood War Arc has finally hit the anime adaptation, with many Shonen fans thinking for years that the day would never arrive.

With it being years since [Bleach](/category/bleach-actor/) aired new episodes of its anime adaptation, the Thousand Year Blood War Arc has managed to become a top series for the fall season, despite some serious competition in the likes of Chainsaw Man, My Hero Academia, Mob Psycho 100, and many others. With this arc originally thought to be the grand finale for Ichigo and Soul Society's story, last year saw Tite Kubo return to his masterpiece via a new chapter that took place years in the future.
With the premiere of the final season of Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War on October 11th, we were introduced to a new antagonist, Ebern.
There is also another reason for the recruitment of Arrancars. This provides some context for how Ebern came to work for the Quincy. He continues to use Quincy powers during his fight with Ichigo, and later on in the episode, he submits to Yhwach. Asguiaro Ebern made quite an appearance in episode one of Bleach's new and final season, Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War. Who is this arrogant man who introduces himself as Asguiaro Ebern and challenges Ichigo to a fight in the first episode? The anime has returned more than ten years later to adapt the final arc of Tite Kubo's manga.

Thousand-Year Blood War presents an impressive transformation for the series that hopefully will continue throughout the run. Some comedic relief was lost in the adaptation process, but that’s a small price for a beautiful adaptation. The Thousand-Year Blood War is Bleach at its best. The improved adaptation style can presumably be attributed to the new series director, Tomohisa Taguchi, who also storyboarded the premiere. The Thousand-Year Blood War arc pits the Soul Reapers against another spiritual military group known as the Quincy. It’s a great way to halt the narrative power creep that often plagues late-stage anime arcs such as Thousand-Year Blood War while adding another reason to fear the new antagonist. While Bleach is known for action scenes, the source material often includes slice-of-life moments and slapstick humor intermittently. When he arrives, it’s the dead of night and he’s terrified. This imagery immediately gives us something to latch onto – and understand why the Quincy faction is so scary. After a decade away, Bleach has finally returned to adapt the manga series’ final arc. There’s a new filter over the show, providing a movie-esque shading. Despite reasonable concerns that the magic may have dissipated, the true joys of Bleach remain unchanged.
Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War and Chainsaw Man are being review bombed on MyAnimeList; the Twitter-sphere isn't fairing any better.
Unfortunately, the recent review bombing of both Bleach and Chainsaw Man is now reaching a particularly gloomy milestone for the wider community. However, both Bleach and Chainsaw Man are fantastic in their own right – they don’t need to be compared to one another at every single junction. The problem is that both anime series are being ‘review bombed’ already, i.e., users downvote a series for the single reason that it threatens their own favourite shows place on the current rankings. Hopefully, MyAnimeList can once again become a fairer platform for ratings and reviews, whilst Twitter removes all posts/users who take online arguments too far. Perhaps it was due to naivety on our part that this contest would not only start prior to Bleach’s premiere on October 10th, but that the debate would become noxious so quickly. Fascinating forums range from topics discussing the nuances of a single frame to expertly-crafted comparisons between shows so niche that only a handful of users have ever even heard of them.
After a ten-year hiatus, the Bleach anime series kicks off with its final arc; Thousand-Year Blood War.

Mayuri Kurotschi, the head of the center, alludes to knowing who caused this to occur and lays the groundwork for the core conflict within the show: That is, After splitting up to patrol the area for Hollows, Ryunosuke finds himself running away from a gigantic, spider-like Hollow, and discovers Shino has been defeated and is being held hostage by a group of Hollows. The show then switches over to Soul Society's Research and Development center, where it's revealed that hundreds of Hollows have disappeared from Soul Society and entered into the World of the Living. A special ending for the premiere episode of the Thousand Year Blood War anime offers a walk down memory lane for Bleach's biggest fans.
It isn't yet clear whether this sequence will serve as the end credits for the entire batch of episodes, as the credits list the theme song (titled "Rapport" and performed by Tatsuya Kitani) as a "Special Ending Theme," so a shorter version or a different end theme altogether may accompany future episode releases. Anime series do tend to change their ending themes far more frequently than American shows, so creating a one-off credits sequence for the first episode back in over ten years is a distinct possibility.
