With many anime fans feeling that the previous Junji Ito anthology series was unable to live up to the high standards that were set by the manga artist's work, we're crossing our fingers that these two upcoming television series will make horror anime fans happy. Library Vision follows a young man who inherits a veritable library of books from his father, with the protagonist struggling with his past thanks to his father's mania. While neither of [Junji Ito](/category/junji-ito/)'s two series will be hitting the small screen before this Halloween in Uzumaki and Maniac: Japanese Tales of the Macabre, the latter anthology has confirmed four new terrifying tales that will arrive next year alongside short stories confirmed for the anime in [The Hanging Balloons, Tomie, and Where The Sandman Lives to name a few](https://comicbook.com/anime/news/junji-ito-manga-nft/).

Junji Ito Maniac: Japanese Tales of the Macabre is set to release exclusively on Netflix on Jan 19, 2023.

The manga collection includes some of Ito’s most well-known works and consists of 11 volumes published between 2011 and 2013. Alongside the previously announced Tomie, Shouichi, and "The Hanging Balloons," Netflix revealed that "Ice Cream Truck" (aka "Ice Cream Bus"), "Tomb Town" (aka "Street of Gravestones" or "Tombs"), "Library Vision" (aka "Library of Illusions"), and "Headless Statue" (aka "Headless Sculptures") will all be adapted.
