- Oct. Although they have managed to remain competitive in his absence, Chicago will finally have star shooting guard Zach LaVine return to the starting lineup against Cleveland. Gambling odds and information courtesy of FanDuel. Look for Ayo Dosunmu to replicate his last season’s success against Cleveland’s twin towers of Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen here. Cleveland has only played one game thus far, losing 105-108 against another top Eastern Conference team the Toronto Raptors. This will be their first home game of the season, so expect Chicago to roll out all the pregame festivities before tip-off.

Keys to the Game - Bulls vs Cavaliers (10.22.22) (Bulls.com)

The Bulls return to the United Center to tip-off their home schedule against longtime rival Cleveland in the first of four with the Cavaliers this ...

After Garland went down, Mitchell attempted to take over, and almost succeeded, finishing with 31 points (18 in the second half) and nine assists in 35 minutes. The 3-time All-Star formally of the Utah Jazz joins forces with high-end talents Darius Garland, Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen, giving Cleveland one of the more intriguing starting lineups in the league. Chicago took three of four in the series last year and have won seven of the last 10 overall. To that end, tonight should see the return of two-time All-Star Zach LaVine to the lineup. Although DeMar DeRozan is a terrific one-on-one player, in the long run, he and the team are best served when everyone on the floor is vested and stays involved in the action. For Chicago to have an effective offense the ball must freely skip from player-to-player and from side-to-side.

This has the makings of being a very exciting game to watch. If the Bulls can put everything together now that LaVine is back then they can go on a run like they did last season and be one of the better teams in the conference. Allen and Mobley can be one of the best frontcourt duos in the league if they continue to defend at a high level. He scored 37 in the first game and then 32 against the Wizards. This was one of the better defensive teams in the NBA last season and that should continue into this year. The Cavaliers are (0-1) on the year after falling to the Toronto Raptors in the first game of the season.

Bulls vs. Cavs final score: Bulls trounced in home opener (Blog a Bull)

The Bulls had some good news heading into this game, with a plausible 2-0 start (only a DeMar DeRozan buzzer-beater miss away) adding the return of Zach ...

The schedule does not break until after their next game, hosting the Celtics on Monday night. The Bulls, down 20 quickly in the second half, have seen themselves fall behind in all three early season games to this point. The Bulls surged out to an early lead, but couldn’t keep up especially after the bench came in. Their bench had huge contributions from Kevin Love (5-6 from three, 15 points), Cedi Osman (15 points as well) and old friend Robin Lopez (12 points, I think all on doofy looking hooks). The problem is the Bulls couldn’t stop anything, and the Cavaliers were red-hot from three. They were a scorching 16-27 from distance (59.3%), led by Mitchell’s 4-6 from three on his way to 32 points.

The Cavs will look to slow down DeMar DeRozan and the Bulls on parade.

The Cavs don’t have many guards or wings that you’d feel comfortable on an island against a dynamic perimeter player. The Bulls will be on the second night of a back-to-back as they lost to the [Washington Wizards](https://www.bulletsforever.com) 102-100 on the road last night. The Cavs don’t have a ready solution for DeRozan. DeRozan did most of his damage in the midrange while being guarded by Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro. The Cavs weren’t able to get someone else to step up besides Cedi Osman in Wednesday’s loss to the The Cavs finished last season 1-3 against the Bulls.
