He's already made a mark with his new team, sinking the game-winning jumper in the season opener against the Mavericks. ''We stopped moving the ball in the second half. Obviously, he took it too far with the ejection, but I love the fire. Steph Curry led the Warriors with 21 points. Without Thompson, the defending NBA champs were never able to mount a rally and the Suns kept a comfortable lead throughout the fourth. Kerr said Thompson simply got frustrated, which led to the ejection. I love the competitiveness. The two-time All-Star added seven assists. Both teams lost their cool at various times during the third quarter, with all of the technical fouls called in less than six minutes. So was Devin Booker's point total and the Phoenix Suns' lead.

I don’t think he’s earned the right to play 25 minutes regularly, but after this game I’m guessing the Dubs feel comfortable putting him in that roll when the roster necessitates it. He showed out with some stylistic moves in the first half. Jerome was active for the first time this season, thanks to Donte DiVincenzo’s injury. He managed to only foul one time (that’s good), but generally played some painful to watch defense (that’s bad). He got plenty of play in the second half, between Steve Kerr pressing buttons trying to find something that would work, and Kerr waiving the white flag. The Warriors gave him a bit of run with the starters, which was good to see, as that should help his development. The Warriors will live with that, as they intend on being great when all is said and done. He also was one of the few players on the team that showed any interest in playing defense. Instead, it did the opposite, as it energized the Suns, who went on an 11-0 run. Wiggins’ defense was very weak in this game, and his offense was less efficient than in the first three contests. His defense on Deandre Ayton was good, and he once again showed an awesome ability to playmake, by moving to the right spots, and passing well when there. The one potential for Klay to get a grade boost was if his ejection rallied the troops.
Suns will be wearing their 90s throwback purple and orange sunburst jerseys for the first time tonight.

It’s too early in the season to know how this game on TNT will unfold before it happens. But they kept in touch and turned the game around with But before he missed the game-tying free throws, Deandre Ayton did get a pair of encouraging defensive stops ( [one block]when it looked like was beat and [one steal]) on Damian Lillard drives. And so are the Warriors. Since the start of the second half in game one against Dallas, the Suns are a very good team again. Fortunately for the Suns, he knows he’s shooting bad so he’s averaging more assists (10.7) than shot attempts (9.3). Draymond Green has regularly said he hates playing bad teams, so I give him a puncher’s chance to get up for a good game against the Suns. But in 57 minutes with two or fewer starters on the floor, they’ve been outscored by 29.9 per 100. Now we have a new season and a new hope. A Western Conference Finals matchup had been predicted for months around the Association, assuming the Warriors could vanquish the Grizzlies along the way.
