Chainsaw Man Episode 9 review: The episode you've been waiting for (Dexerto)

The plot is described as Crunchyroll as: “Denji is a teenage boy living with a Chainsaw Devil named Pochita. Due to the debt his father left behind, he has been ...

Not only that, but the way the camera holds on characters’ reactions hints that there is far more to her notoriety and abilities than what we know. Her demon contract, and the way she is able to so calmly take out her enemies, is truly intimidating, and she’s not even a villain. There’s more chainsaw action in this episode, and the choreography is starting to speed up, what with Denji fighting against someone with similar abilities. The only thing that has yet to take precedence is a real enemy presence. And it did just that, as it seems like the Gun Devil is trying to get Denji captured, for who knows what reason. And now, the same can be said for Chainsaw Man.

Chainsaw Man Episode 9 Review: All My Friends Are Dead (Leisurebyte)

The series is based on a manga of the same name written by Tatsuki Fujimoto. Click here to read the review of the previous episode! The show is being directed ...

One of the most exciting things in anime is a new episode of Chainsaw Man. The reports of a few deaths were greatly exaggerated because, as it happened, a lot of help was needed to recover from the huge blow that was dealt to the Devil Hunters in these two episodes. That came extremely out of the left field and can’t be called a good twist because of that, but it being surprising is enough for most people and for myself. The show did not make it any easier to talk about Chainsaw Man Episode 9 when compared to the previous one. The show is being directed by Tatsuya Ishihara, who has been a part of the productions of Black Clover and Monster Musume. The series is based on a manga of the same name written by Tatsuki Fujimoto.

The Chainsaw Man anime has released its episode 9 ending video with theme song “Deep Down“ performed by Aimer.

Due to the debt his father left behind, he has been living a rock-bottom life while repaying his debt by harvesting devil corpses with Pochita. However, it saw its first drop [week 6](https://animecorner.me/fall-2022-anime-rankings-week-06/), when it fell to 5th, and it rose to 4th in [week 7](https://animecorner.me/fall-2022-anime-rankings-week-07/). Chainsaw Man Episode 9 Review for Anime-Only Viewers: 'From ... (Post Apocalyptic Media)

The episode picked up right where it left off — with Himeno sacrificing herself to try to save Aki's life. Her sacrifice was cut short by the Snake Devil, who ...

This episode was phenomenal and the perfect follow-up to last week. He was able to slice Denji in half while he moved at this speed (the same way he was able to get the better of Aki and spear him.) It’s a really sad situation, as Kobeni just seems stuck, unable to have the freedom to make her own choices. After this episode, I better understand why Power was so terrified of Makima, and just why Makima’s simple presence was enough to cause Power to not want to leave the team. I wondered why she didn’t aim at Sawatari (the blonde) or Katana Man. They’re not intending to join the team, but I can’t help but think they ultimately will. They’re going to be helping out Makima as she builds the Division back up. [Chainsaw Man](https://www.postapocalypticmedia.com/category/anime/chainsaw-man/) Episode 9, “From Kyoto,” was the perfect fiery follow-up to [last week’s episode](https://www.postapocalypticmedia.com/chainsaw-man-episode-8-review/). Fushi (who had the unnamed Fiend partner who couldn’t be controlled) is now dead, along with his partner whose name we didn’t learn. But she did manage to give Aki the reprieve he needed to at least have a shot at living. It seems that when Katana Man moves that fast, it drains him of power (kind of like when Denji loses a lot of blood.) But when his power wanes, his Devil side “melts away” from him, it appears. The episode picked up right where it left off — with Himeno sacrificing herself to try to save Aki’s life.

Chainsaw Man episode 9: Makima's contracts introduced, Kobeni ... (Sportskeeda)

Chainsaw Man episode 9 was released on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, bringing with it the exciting retaliation of Tokyo Special Division 4 against their ...

Makima deduces that the Gun Devil is involved, while Madoka shares the message that Divisions 1-3 are merging in with 4, and Makima is in command of the new group. Kobeni then grabs Denji and uses him as a shield, prompting Sawatari to rush Katana Man into the van and drive off. Chainsaw Man episode 9 then sees Sawatari and Katana Man in disbelief that Makima is still alive. Fans also see the series’ story continue to twist and turn, with Makima’s lying to Tendo and Kurose alarming viewers as they watch this ominous sequence unfold. [Makima](https://www.sportskeeda.com/anime/chainsaw-man-10-anime-characters-makima-can-defeat) tells Tendo and Kurose to remove their blindfolds. Chainsaw Man episode 9 then shows the corpses or remains of all the Tokyo Special Division 4 members attacked, except Kobeni Higashiyama. Chainsaw Man episode 9 then shows the interior of the train, where Makima’s shooters are seen dead in a pool of blood with dinner-plate-sized holes in their chests. However, Chainsaw Man episode 9 sees Katana Man enter his crouched stance, where he then reappears behind Denji after having sliced both Denji and his goon in half at the waist. Chainsaw Man episode 9 also sees Makima use her Devil contracts, which are shown to be some of the most unsettling powers seen thus far in the series. One of the cronies on the ground begins shooting at Denji, with Denji then taking him hostage and taunting Katana Man. Meanwhile, Denji and Katana Man are duking it out, with neither seemingly able to get the upper hand. Katana Man tells the blonde teenage girl that the Fiend ran off, to which she says they’re after Chainsaw’s heart, so it doesn’t matter.

Chainsaw Man Episode 9 Finally Unleashes Makima's Power - /Film (/FILM)

We continue where we left off, with Himeno sacrificing herself, and Katana Man fighting the Ghost Devil. Himeno's final act before dying gets the Ghost Devil to ...

He is still in the hands of the Gun Devil agents until he is saved not by Makima, but by Kobeni. The camera quickly cuts away between extreme close-ups of Makima's hands pulling what looks like a sinister version of the hand signs from "Naruto," and shots of all the Gun Devil agents being smashed down and pressed into jelly, while the convicts fall to their death one by one in a sadistic exchange of lives. We have no idea what happened, but Akane (the girl with the Snake Devil contract) immediately recognizes this as the work of Makima and starts panicking. Likewise, the scene immediately after shows Makima changing into less-bloody clothes, and the animators absolutely go to town in adding a richness of detail to Makima's clothes and how they move subtly while Makima changes into them. Apparently getting a bullet to the head isn't that big of a deal for her, and she leaves a bunch of dead bodies behind with huge holes in their chests with minimal effort. If it wasn't already clear by now how violent and subversive "Chainsaw Man" is, then this episode doubles down on the shock and gore aspect of the show in delightful ways, all of which revolve around Makima.

Chainsaw Man season 1, episode 9 recap - “From Kyoto” (Ready Steady Cut)

Despite her untimely demise last week, the episode opens up just before Himeno's death, with her Ghost Devil taking on Katana Man. She begs Aki not to die so ...

She says that’s a shame, as the “dining in Tokyo is to die for” before the episode ends. Katana Man can’t believe she is still alive, but as he turns to leave, they both notice Kobeni standing at the end of the block, watching them with a knife in her hands. Akane and Katana Man encourage him to get back to work, but as they do, the lackey is crushed to death in thin air, with no assailant in sight. Due to the lack of personnel, Makima is immediately informed that what’s left of Divisions 1-4 will be absorbed into Division 4 and are now under her control. Often you see animes divulge from the main story after dropping a particularly intense episode, but Chainsaw Man picks up with exactly what viewers wanted to see. After noticing that Katana Man is struggling, Akane then throws him into the car in favor of escaping instead. At the temple, Makima stands in front of not only blindfolded convicts but blindfolded Devil Hunters as well. The convicts are bribed with food and brought to the temple, obviously confused by their reason for being there. Just then, Himeno’s ghost hand, left over from her contract with the Ghost Devil, manages to crawl to Denji and pull the chord from his chest. In his confusion, Denji realizes the armed lackeys are still conscious as they attempt to shoot at him again. Katana Man kneels, making it seem like he is going to surrender, before suddenly disappearing and reappearing behind Denji. Despite her untimely demise last week, the episode opens up just before Himeno’s death, with her Ghost Devil taking on Katana Man.
