After losing to the Kings 106-95, it became quite evident that Cleveland was quite careless with the basketball. While things could change in the moments leading to tip-off regarding Donovan Mitchell’s status, Cleveland at the moment will be without their top do-it-all star. It is quite rare to see Gilgeous-Alexander have off nights in back-to-back games, so be on the lookout for him to go into full takeover mode ahead of this one. Not only will Oklahoma City be able to exploit Cleveland’s weaknesses with Mitchell out of the lineup, but even if the Cavalier’s top threat was suiting up for play, Gilgeous-Alexander would still be giving Cleveland fits. When it comes to consistent teams throughout the NBA during the opening quarter of regular season games so far this year, the Cleveland Cavaliers automatically come to mind. Despite the slight hiccup, the Thunder are not to be overlooked this season!

Game Tonight: OKC Thunder vs Cavaliers Odds, Injury Report ... (Thunderous Intentions)

The OKC Thunder are underdogs but as the rested team TI thinks Shai Gilgeous-Alexander could have a big night vs. the Cavaliers TI serves up the details.

In contrast, the OKC Thunder are feasting on offense posting the sixth most points per game with 116.4. All this adds up to the potential for Shai Gilgeous-Alexander to have a big night in Cleveland. EST (6:30 CT) from the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse, Cleveland, Ohio. Per usual the game will be broadcast on Bally Sports Oklahoma or NBA League Pass. Even when they’ve dealt with injuries their starters haven’t missed games at the same time. And, they have a stellar home record of 11-2 (just losing their second game Friday to the Kings). The Cavaliers are favored by 6.5 points which seems pretty hefty given they were the team who played on Friday not the OKC Thunder. Case in point, of their 11 home wins only three occurred against winning clubs (Boston, Atlanta, Portland). As I noted above the Cavaliers while much improved have a glaring hole on the wing. Undoubtedly their two overtime wins against the Celtics were their most impressive of the season. Having already gone through the rebuild process the Cavaliers are a club Sam Presti is likely paying close attention to. While the Nets were eyeing Big 3 All-Stars, Koby Altman recognized how valuable Jarret Allen was and snatched him up for a song.

Will the Cleveland Cavaliers bounce back versus the Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday after their cold spell late versus the Sacramento Kings on Friday?

The Cavs win and cover, although the under hits here. After that one, the Cavs will begin a six-game homestand versus the Indiana Pacers next Friday night. In this contest, the Cavaliers need to be patient against a Thunder team that’s such a young group. The moneyline is -225 for Cleveland and +188 for Oklahoma City. Regardless of the outcome on Friday being disappointing, the Cavaliers have to flush that one, with a very young Thunder squad that has its share of intriguing guys for years ahead coming up next, and OKC has had their moments already this season. Cleveland is 11-0 at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse with Mitchell in the lineup and 1-2 when he doesn't play.
