He was staying on his back foot and just running around the whole time. That’s why he was running the whole time. But, listen, our dancer partner was running the whole time. He just ran the whole time. Lopez said, “It’s so hard to fight somebody like this when they’re running the whole time. Lopez initiated the bout in usual fashion by taking the center of the ring and trying to control the action with his speed and power.

He can’t crack, but he’s got that toughness, that mental toughness, he’s got the volume. He stepped to Kambosos in the fight. Regis Prograis, what he did to [Jose] Zepeda and Zepeda is no slouch. It’s a lot to deal with for Teo right now. “He needs to be more active. I was like, ‘Check, okay.’ I was like, ‘Okay, the dad is doing his homework. Bradley Teofimo was a “mentally” different person when he spoke to him this week during the fighter meetings. “The game is 90% mental, and when you’re not mentally stable, and you’re fighting those demons, you literally after to talk to yourself over and over. Why are you not listening to me?’ His dad was telling him what was right. Every time he sets foot inside the ring, the trauma that he has suffered with the Kambosos loss. The battle is with himself.’ I knew something was off. He dropped Teofimo twice in the fight but only got credit for one knockdown.

Every time you committed, I countered, and I hit you, that is why you was running. You was running the whole time, every time you committed, I countered and I hit you. After the fight, Lopez and Martin got into a heated argument, with Martin claiming to have been robbed.

I don’t see Teofimo beating either of those fighters, but he stands a better chance against them than he would against Prograis. Prograis would knockout Teofimo, which is why Arum, as wise as he is, won’t go in that direction for Teo’s next fight. “There’s a lot of guys that he can fight,” said Arum when asked where does Teofimo go from here. “He ran like a bandit. Five pounds sounds like nothing, but it’s a lot of weight. I don’t know about Teo winning every round, but he did appear to win one round, but that’s it.

You have to understand, it’s the second fight back since that,” said Tim Bradley to Fight Hub TV about Teofimo Lopez after his less than impressive victory over Sandor Martin last Saturday night. ESPN commentator Tim Bradley feels that Teofimo is still dealing with the “trauma” from his loss to Kambosos. Maybe Teo had a broken back that’s why he didn’t perform well? A scrappy, tactical fight left us with more questions about Lopez's future than answers. Let's take a look at what happened.
It was still awkward, low-scoring and janky, but he’d manage to push his opponent to the ropes long enough to get off combinations with increasing regularity, and that was the time of the fight when he had most success drawing the check hook, slipping it, and countering it. For Martin, this will of course be immensely frustrating, and doubly so because for all that he deserved the victory and looked skilled, it wasn’t the kind of exciting performance that will have fans and networks clamouring to see him given a second chance. It was obvious enough it was coming that on a couple of occasions Lopez was able to counter it and knock Martin back, but he never got comfortable enough with the risk of taking the shot to make that a consistent tactic. What is strange is that Lopez does have a good jab, but he repeatedly abandoned it before he got close enough to build off it. It’s probably fair to say that his father has taken him as far as he can as a coach, but whether he can bring himself to break that partnership is something we can’t know. And that, really, was the story of the fight. The straights weren’t too bad- not great in that he’d only get one or two off before Martin escaped, and was too off-balanced to follow, but he did score with them consistently, especially to the body. When, in all his other fights, he’s asked to step in himself, he has very little idea how to manage the range and loses his cool with those wild exchanges. Against Lomachenko, all he really needed to do was stay patient, wait for Loma to come to him, and pick him off as he closed. Taking a clear win in a precise, nerveless performance against one of the greats of his generation, it looked like he had the world at his feet. It’s particularly hard to swallow for Martin because Lopez went down in the seventh round for what the referee called a slip, but was almost certainly a KD. He more or less controlled how the fight went tactically, but he didn’t throw much himself, so a narrow win for Lopez wouldn’t have been too controversial.
Ryan Garcia says Sandor Martin deserved the decision victory over Teofimo Lopez last Saturday night at Madison Square Garden in New York.
Yes, of course,” said Sandor when asked if he could have knocked out Teofimo with an eight week “I accepted this challenge because I thought I could do it. I needed to move all the time and use my defensive skills. I’m at the world level. “That’s the masterclass of boxing. The judge’s scores:

No, he doesn’t have the power 140,” said Sandor about Teofimo lacking big power in the light welterweight division. “The Lomachenko fight was an accident [for Teofimo to have won]. “I won this fight against Teofimo Lopez for a reason, but that’s the sport of boxing. “No, he doesn’t stay at the top,” said Martin when asked if Teofimo is an ‘elite fighter’ at 140 lbs. “Absolutely not,” said Sandor when asked if Teofimo can beat Devin Haney. Prograis is in another league,” said Sandor Martin to
