With the two teams each stumbling in off of a loss, both will be hungry for the win. A silver lining for Indiana was the play of point guard Speaking of close games: Miami was close but no cigar this past Saturday as they fell 115-111 to the San Antonio Spurs. This Monday, the Indiana Pacers are hoping to patch up the holes in a defense that has allowed an average of 116.67 points per game.

Heat vs. Pacers prediction and odds for Monday, December 12 ... (8 Points, 9 Seconds)

The Indiana Pacers are in a favorable spot on Monday against the Miami Heat, who have been dreadful as favorites and on the road this season.

Either way, I’ll gladly take the three points to back Haliburton and company tonight. Butler, Oladipo and Herro in the lineup certainly boosts Miami’s offensive profile, but the team lost against the Spurs with all of those players healthy. Do the Heat start to play more like the team that was the No. 1 seed in the East last season? Miami has a loaded injury report in this game, but Herro, Butler, Duncan Robinson and Max Strus are all listed as probable. Heat vs.

Jimmy Butler, Tyler Herro, Victor Oladipo, Duncan Robinson, and Max Strus are probable. For the Heat, Jamal Cain, Nikola Jovic, Dru Smith, Gabe Vincent, and Omer Yurtseven are out. The over/under for the game is 227.5. Trevelin Queen and Kendall Brown could be in the G League as a part of their two-way contracts, and both have played with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants recently. If he plays, it will be the first time that he has played against the Pacers, or played in Indianapolis, since the franchise traded him away in early 2020. They are 5-5 in their last ten games. On Sunday, the team got a breather, and tonight, they'll use that extra juice and try to take down the Miami Heat in Indianapolis. The Indiana Pacers brutal stretches of schedule are over, as they just finished a week in which they play five games in seven days.

Indiana Pacers vs Miami Heat Prediction, Betting Tips & Odds 13 ... (Telecom Asia)

The Heat already suffered an upset loss to the Pacers by 2 points this season and will now try to take revenge.

Indiana missed a lot from the paint, and Turner only made one block. Brooklyn was without seven key players, and Indiana didn't take advantage of the situation and still lost 133:136. By the start of the season, Indiana had traded away nearly all of its former leaders, and now there is only one question: Did the team go into a rebuild?

The Pacers will have to return to playing the same way, which they did not do in their last outing. And by rebound, I mean, literally trying to rebound after getting crushed on the glass by the Nets. The Pacers are trying to rebound from a horrible loss on Saturday to the short-handed Nets.

Four Observations: Heat outlast Pacers 87-82 in lowest scoring NBA ... (The Indianapolis Star)

The Heat outlasted the Pacers 87-82 in the lowest scoring NBA game since April 2021. Tyrese Haliburton is held without a field goal.

The Pacers also nearly matched the Heat on the glass with Miami winning 48-45. The Pacers responded with clear improvement on defense and the boards. The Pacers obviously didn't dominate in those phases and every point mattered, but there was still clear response. The Heat's focus on him freed up other scorers, and it was largely with him on the floor that the Pacers rallied to take the lead. He posted six assists against two turnovers, and when he was on the floor, the Pacers outscored the Heat by seven. The Pacers trailed by 19 points, but rallied back to make it a five-point game at halftime, and they took a five-point lead in the third quarter.

Game Rewind: Pacers vs Heat (Pacers.com)

All season long, the Indiana Pacers have ranked among the highest scoring teams in the NBA and among the bottom in most points given up. Against the Miami Heat ...

We just wanted to go back to who we are.” – Nembhard on upping the intensity We just have to stay locked in, stay with the game plan and play defense.” – Bennedict Mathurin on the loss - During pregame interviews on Monday, Carlisle told the media second-year guard Chris Duarte had practiced with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants earlier in the day and will play two games this week before returning to the Pacers. Haliburton’s one point is the second-fewest point(s) he’s scored in a game in a Pacers uniform. Miami’s 87 points tie the fewest scored in a game this season by the Heat. Indiana (14-14) scored and gave up season lows in points in a 87-82 loss to the Heat (13-15) at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. 16, the Heat lost to the Toronto Raptors, 113-87. “He goes 0-for-9, scores one point and is still plus seven in the game. Insider: Pacers play tougher but need to find a way to play their style ... (The Indianapolis Star)

Rick Carlisle was pleased with the response the Pacers had after their loss to Brooklyn, but they lost Monday because the Heat dictated the pace.

"They're playing with a great pace, they have shooting, and that's going to be some of the challenges tonight." He was 0 of 9 from the field, including 0 of 6 from 3-point range, which spoke to how difficult it was for him to get closer to the basket. The Pacers have cracked the 120-point mark just twice in those 10 games, though the Heat are the only team to keep them under 100. They won't always be able to decide the way the game is played and it is important that they're able to adjust, especially when stakes are higher and games are more intense. The game was played at the pace and style at which the Heat wanted to play it. In that time, they're 29th in the league in field goal percentage (.442), 23rd in effective field goal percentage (.522), 29th in offensive rating (107.5), 17th in defensive rating (114.2) and 27th in net rating at -6.7. That's all evidence of the fact that they're playing harder teams and those teams are scouting them better. The Heat wanted to take away transition baskets and keep the Pacers in the half court as much as possible and they accomplished that goal. The Pacers clearly took Saturday's game personal, aware that they hadn't respected the Nets and that they hadn't been playing physical enough in recent weeks. The Pacers defended this time, and defended hard, holding the Heat to 38.6% shooting after the Nets shot 52%. No loss is good, but it mattered to him that they responded to a bad effort by getting after the freaking ball. The remaining collection of seldom-used youngsters and 32-and-over veterans not only managed to beat the Pacers but humiliate them near the basket, scoring 72 of their 136 points in the paint, grabbing 59 rebounds to Indiana's 30 and 29 offensive rebounds to the Pacers' seven.
