SB19 and NOBITA have released covers of Eraserheads' 'Christmas Party' and 'Magasin' in celebration of the band's recent reunion concert.

Both acts have put their own spin on the track they covered, with SB19 incorporating elements of dance-pop, R&B/hip-hop, and modern funk in the festive ‘Christmas Party’ and NOBITA infusing jazz-pop into their take on ‘Magasin’.

It definitely adds to the cheer of this holiday season. An experience similar in feel to watching the Beatles’ "Get Back" documentary. And there was pop star Gary Valenciano performing for "Christmas Party" (also from "Fruitcake"). It was an excellent introduction to the concert. The Eraserheads’ much-anticipated reunion show 'Huling El Bimbo 2022' was a spectacle unto itself. Even a salsa outro.

Instead, Ely took off his leather jacket, threw it to a lucky fan, and then sang “Feel Her” solo on stage with his acoustic guitar. The Eheads know how to hype up a crowd, and at the same time, make the concert feel like an intimate jamming session with friends.

SB19 and Nobita paid tribute to OPM rock legends The Eraserheads by adding their own spin to the band's hit songs, “Christmas Party” and “Magasin.”

The five-piece band admitted in a statement that their music is heavily influenced by the OPM rock legend. “We feel honored that we were chosen to recreate the song. “There’s a balance of artistic liberty and compromise in the way we approach the material, and we’re definitely happy with how it turned out.” We retained everything that’s great about the song, but made sure to add our own creative direction in terms of overall sound,” SB19 said. [Nobita] heavily draws inspiration from their music, especially their brand of songwriting. Our tour schedule was really tight, but gladly we were still able to push through with it before leaving LA.

From legendary guest performers to a spectacular ending, the iconic rock band turns out an unforgettable concert.

“Pare Ko” – the song that shot the band to fame in the ‘90s – opened the final act of the concert. He had been listening to the ‘Heads since he was in high school, and has been a fan ever since. “It looks like they have a real relationship, and it reflects in their songs,” he said. Having a countdown timer on the screens for the break was a thoughtful touch, as if to make sure that everyone gets back to their spots by the time the band returns on stage. What followed was pretty much the entirety of the band’s 1995 album Cutterpillow, performed in the same order that the songs appear on the album, save for the last track, “Ang Huling El Bimbo,” which would obviously be played as a closer, like it was always meant to be. The crowd – made up mostly of elder millennials and Gen Xers – cheered at any sign of movement from the stage.
