To match, contestants of one gender put a “ticket” in the mailbox of the person they’d like to go with. Season after season, the show’s [abhorrent treatment of its Black cast](https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/stephaniemcneal/the-bachelor-racism-matt-james-chris-harrison-rachel-lindsay) (when Black contestants were cast at all) also became obvious and painful. Because they are all incredibly ripped, they basically all have the same “hobby,” working out, and default to talking about it. The show is replete with these moments: Seo-eun finding it cute that Yoong-jae brought a printed-out science report with him for casual reading during a morning on the beach, or Jong-woo, who desperately wants to go to paradise with Seul-ki, helpfully offering her zinc when she is feeling tired. I watched nearly every iteration — The Bachelor, The Bachelorette, and Single’s Inferno’s most direct comparison, Bachelor in Paradise — during the 2010s. Contestants of the other gender then go outside one by one and say the name of their chosen person aloud, waiting to see if interest was reciprocated. Contestants try to be subtle about checking out their crush or admitting, “I’m curious about you.” And it doesn’t present rejection like a death sentence, even as it’s honest about the way rejection hurts. And while it’s still selling a fantasy — contestants are hot and even “inferno” is gorgeous — it’s a much more low-key version of it. Contestants must cook their own meals from provided ingredients like daikon, egg, and green onion, and have to get water from a well, which they deposit into a working sink. Instead, the mood is excitement and nervousness — everyone is gorgeous and stylish to boot. Instead they hang out, compete in silly challenges, and anonymously submit “paradise tickets” indicating who they’d like to go with. [Love Is Blind](https://www.polygon.com/2020/2/28/21158070/love-is-blind-netflix-reality-dating-show-couples), in which contestants get engaged without seeing each other, stressed me out; [Too Hot to Handle](https://www.polygon.com/2020/4/17/21225046/too-hot-to-handle-review-netflix-reality-series-no-sex), which puts hot people on an island and docks their cash prize anytime they hook up, made me more sad than intrigued.

If a third season comes out, we are going to watch it for sure, but if the makers don’t learn from the mistakes of this season, we won’t be interested in a fourth season. Second is a lack of time, and third is finding out that more people, and by that we mean men, prefer situationships to relationships. It’s not the love story the audience needs to be interested in; it’s the person. It sounds like the creation of an ideal dating pool, but even that is not devoid of sharks. It is safe to say that So E represents all introverts and their struggle to find love in a world that doesn’t know what to do with them when they put themselves out there. It was a moment like never before when Ji A declared that none of the guys on the island was her type in Episode 1 of Season 1, we believe. It was so sweet when he did her hair or when he was able to get her to shed her inhibitions. We cannot say that there was another contestant that really stood out for us, but the back and forth between So Yeon and Jin Taek was cringeworthy and comical at the same time. But once that evidence was witnessed and the curiosity was satiated, we needed some zing for us to like Season 2. Season 1 worked not only because it was a much-needed look into Korean dating practices that the rest of the world was curious about, but it was also a proof of sorts that real people in artificial settings can interact without the level of high-octane conflict that most reality shows are known for. We believe Ji Yeon might be an interesting person in real life, but she did not bring that to the show. That is why we fell in love with “Single’s Inferno” when Season 1 came out.

In the initial episodes of the series, we saw a love triangle forming between Yoong-jae, So-e and So-eun and many of us empathised with So-e and applauded her honesty. Single’s Inferno season 2 ends with some shocking people being left alone on the beach while some known (and unknown!) couples walk out of inferno hand in hand. Although they kept the format the same, they switched up the drama a bit without going off of the deep end. Other than the choices, episode 9 gave us three meaningful paradise dates that showed us some very comforting and relatable romance between Yoong-jae and Soe-eun, who seemed like they were on their honeymoon. Sure, he couldn’t make her heart flutter like Jin-young, but he was sincere from the first day and stuck to his guns regardless of whether or not she gave him the attention he wanted. Single’s Inferno (솔로지옥 시즌) is a reality dating TV show created by Kim Jae-won and Kim Na-hyun and features a handful of singles who fight to find love on a deserted island. However, in the end, with three options, Seul-ki provided a shocking ending choice that left the judges in tears.

Spoilers: Jo Yoong-jae and Choi Seo-eun hit it off on Singles Inferno, and left the island as a couple - making them a season 2 success.
Singles Inferno viewers are over the moon that Yoong-jae and Seo-eun left season 2 together. Similarly to Lee So-E and Kim Se-Jun, viewers were hoping that Yoong-jae and Seo-eun would leave hand-in-hand. Since episode 10 came out, the two have been giving hints on Instagram regarding their relationship status.
Though none of the men chose Lee Nadine in the 'Single's Inferno' Season 2 finale, fans believe the Harvard pre-med student could now be dating Kim Han-bin.

Though the man’s face was obscured by an emoji, viewers are convinced Nadine was with [Kim Han-bin](https://www.bustle.com/entertainment/kim-han-bin-from-singles-inferno-age-job-instagram-bio), who also left the island single. “He tricked me here!” Nadine said while watching the episode with her fellow female contestants in a Netflix reunion video. The fact that she’s studying in the United States and he’s based in South Korea isn’t necessarily an issue either since Nadine said on the show that she doesn’t “really mind long-distance” relationships.
