As of writing, Game 6 of the finals is ongoing with the Dragons leading Ginebra, 25-20, at the end of the first period. According to a police report, the QCPD, along with the operatives of District Special Operations Unit, Quezon City Hall Detachment, and Quezon City-Anti-Cyber Crime Team conducted an entrapment operation on Wednesday afternoon at Gateway, Cubao, Quezon City after the PBA sought assistance about scalping of tickets online. The Quezon City Police District arrested three scalpers who were caught selling overpriced tickets for the crucial Game 6 of the 2022 PBA Commissioner's Cup Finals.

the same day, 50 tickets were retrieved as three of the scalpers were brought to the station and eventually fined P5,000 for violating City Ordinance SP-2744 or Anti-Scalping. A day before the game, the QCPD launched an entrapment operation, with one of the operatives posing as a buyer. As a direct result, the PBA has forwarded its concerns to the QCPD about the hoarded number of tickets being sold five to ten times their original price.

Police apprehended three persons in Cubao, Quezon City on Tuesday for allegedly selling overpriced tickets for Game 6 of the Commissioner's Cup finals ...

The suspects were fined P5,000 each for violating the Quezon City ordinance against the sale of admission tickets outside authorized booths and outlets. A report on ABS-CBN News said the suspects were selling upper box seat tickets for up to P1,000 instead of the regular price of P230. They were arrested while negotiating with a policeman who pretended to buy 13 admission tickets in exchange for P13,000 at the Araneta Center in Barangay Socorro at around 4:35 p.m.

The league chieftain hopes that the recent arrest would serve as a warning to the scalpers and to the public as well. The league has been aware of scalping reports and immediately sought the help of the police Tuesday, leading to the arrest of the three on the same day. Three individuals were nabbed in an entrapment operation at the Gateway Mall in Cubao after the league reported to authorities the online reselling of overpriced tickets for the match between Ginebra and Bay Area at the Araneta Coliseum.
