At the heart of the Jimny 5-Door is Suzuki’s K15B engine — a 1.5-liter inline-four mild-hybrid mill that puts down 104hp and 99ft-lbs of torque — all of which is sent to the ground through a four-wheel-drive system — and comes mated to a four-speed automatic or a five-speed manual transmission. Decked out with scratch-resistant surfaces, the interior of the Jimny 5-Door features six-airbags, a SmartPlay Pro+ infotainment system, an Arkamys audio system, a reversing camera, and 208 liters of storage space behind the rear seats — or 332 liters of cargo space with the back seats folded down. Despite the addition of a new set of doors and a back seat, the 5-Door-spec maintains the regular version’s signature boxy design, round headlights, and flared fenders.

The approach angle is 36°, the Ramp break-over angle is 24° and it has a Departure angle of 50°. We will be driving it soon but for now, the wait has been worth it since it has been a clever move to convert it to a 5-door and make it vastly more appealing as a compact SUV alternative. Legroom is decent and it is more of a four-seater with a central tunnel, but you would not mind it. It is compact though with a length of 3985mm and width is 1645mm.
