It’s hard to know yet if Suicide Squad will live up to expectations, but being compared it to the likes of Gotham Knights, Anthem, and Marvel’s Avengers before it launches isn’t exactly a good start. While millions of us tune into live-service games each and every day with an aim to complete our daily quests and contribute to the grind, the idea of a developer we once adored for sprawling open worlds and narrative adventures we couldn’t find anywhere bowing to the very same formula leaves a bad taste in our mouths. It has toiled away on a game that aims to embrace the future, but by design it can’t escape the past. On the surface it’s a smart move, and with the right execution can create an ecosystem similar to were clearly keen to capitalise on the popularity of live-service experiences favouring content updates and user retention over a new blockbuster every few years. An inside source has confirmed Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League does have a Battle Pass, while an artist has denied other leaked parts.

The game being a co-op game with RPG elements has persisted to this day in both leaks and marketing. However, the current leaks claim both Superman and The Flash die, while Wonder Woman is an ally to the Suicide Squad. Speaking to a “development source,” the Battle Pass will be “focused” on cosmetics (an example given was skins). The latter was done to prevent Batman being shown to be killed or captured. It could be assumed that the different kinds of XP are for different kinds of skill, such as movement, temporary damage buffs, new attacks, more health, and so on. Later, an alleged image from the game was leaked, dated January 16th based on what seems to be a developer-build text.

The game is expected to have multiplayer and other players will get jealous when they see the various costumes they haven’t earned yet.
