Steph Curry explains emotional mouthpiece throw in Warriors' win ... (NBC Sports Bay Area)

Steve Kerr is glad the Warriors won Wednesday night, but he knows his superstar can't let his frustrations get the best of him.

"But the intentions and the energy around what matters in the sense of winning, that's what it's all about. Kind of let my emotions get in the way of it." When you want something so bad like getting the win and in the fourth quarter, execution, clutch situation, all that stuff does matter, so I reacted in a way that obviously put myself out of the game and put the team in a tough place. They fought through and executed down the stretch and got us the win." "I didn't see what happened at the time, so when the ref called it, I was confused and then the coaches told me he threw the mouthpiece down out of anger," Kerr said. But I was really proud of the guys.

Draymond Green's basketball genius on display in Warriors' win ... (NBC Sports Bay Area)

Draymond Green's basketball IQ was the difference yet again Wednesday night in the Warriors' win over the Memphis Grizzlies.

"That started in the 2015 championship, so I'm all for it," Thompson said of the Warriors going small. Under points scored, it was Curry, Thompson and Poole's game against the Grizzlies. As he said, that allowed the Warriors to go smaller down the stretch. The five-man group of Poole, Thompson, DiVincenzo, Lamb and Green played 28 seconds together. He then boxes out Brandon Clarke, beats Jackson to the point of where Bane's misfire was landing and that's when one of the smartest players in NBA history always comes out on top. This season, he missed the first 14 games to injury and has been a top Defensive Player of the Year candidate ever since he returned. "We had enough guys out there who knew the play where we could sort through it. The margin for error was minimal. It was a play Kerr admitted the Warriors hadn't practiced in months. His 103 defensive rating is the best of his career, and if eligible, he'd be leading the league with 3.2 blocks per game. "It allowed us to play smaller for a longer stretch." With a Desmond Bane 3-pointer in mid-flight, Green peeks to his right to see where Grizzlies big man Jaren Jackson Jr.

Why Warriors sent Moses Moody to G League for first time this season (NBC Sports Bay Area)

For Moody, his G League assignment is a first this season. "He just needs to play," Steve Kerr said Thursday after Warriors practice. "He's a young guy and out ...

But I chose to develop in the NBA and that's what comes with it. The goal is for Moody to lock-in on becoming the 3-and-D player the Warriors envision out of him. Kerr and the rest of the Warriors have raved about Moody's mental fortitude since Day 1. Aside from game reps, Kerr is excited for Moody's move to Santa Cruz because of the individual attention each player gets in the G League. This is why Santa Cruz exists for the development of our young players and potential future players and it's a great tool. Santa Cruz plays Friday and Sunday night against the South Bay Lakers in El Segundo at the UCLA Health Training Center.

Warriors assign Patrick Baldwin Jr. and Ryan Rollins to the G League (Golden State of Mind)

The Golden State Warriors made a roster move on Thursday morning, after their thrilling win over the Memphis Grizzlies the night prior. And it's a move they've already made a few times this season, as they assigned rookies Patrick Baldwin Jr. and Ryan ...

With the Warriors not finding too much garbage time these days, and the second-round pick having had some other stints in Santa Cruz, Rollins has appeared in just one of the last 15 games. Baldwin has flashed a lot of promise during his NBA stints, while Rollins is a bit further off, but still viewed very highly by the Warriors. Second-year lottery picks aren’t normally sent to the G League, but Moody seems stuck in Steve Kerr’s dog house. Warriors' Steph Curry named 2023 NBA All-Star Game starter for ... (NBC Sports Bay Area)

Warriors superstar Steph Curry was named an NBA All-Star Game starter for the ninth time in his career on Thursday.

He did so last year in the All-Star Game, too. The 2023 NBA All-Star Game will be played at Vivint Arena in Salt Lake City, Utah on Feb. With nine All-Star Game selections, Curry passed Hall of Famer Rick Barry for the second-most in Warriors history. Curry, who turns 35 years old in March, is averaging 29.3 points, a career-high 6.2 rebounds and 6.2 assists per game. The honor is Curry's ninth All-Star Game of his storied 14-year career. From 2014 through 2019, Curry made six straight All-Star Games.

The second would be a closed-door sit-down with Poole, reminding him that his franchise operates with a team-first culture, and their winning championship record is the path Poole needs to find again. The two-time MVP greeted Poole with a smile and praise for his winning shot, only to have the budding star blow past him when Curry attempted to explain the reason for his frustration and his ejection. The 23-year-old made a game-winning layup to give his team the win, but had also caused superstar teammate Stephen Curry to be ejected shortly beforehand.
