All six members of the K-pop girl group MOMOLAND are leaving MLD Entertainment.

MOMOLAND returned to the Philippines in November for a show at a "friendship day" for Filipino K-pop fans. MLD Entertainment urged fans to continue supporting the six MOMOLAND members who are set to embark on a new journey. “After a lengthy discussion with MOMOLAND (Hyebin, Jane, Nayun, JooE, Ahin, and Nancy), we respected each other’s opinions and agreed to terminate the exclusive contract upon expiration of the contract period,” the MLD Entertainment statement said.

MOMOLAND first came into existence as the final seven winners out of the ten participants of the Mnet reality show ‘Finding MOMO LAND’ including Hyebin, Yeonwoo, Jane, Nayun, JooE, Ahin, and Nancy. Momoland is a K-pop girl group formed by MLD Entertainment through the reality survival program “Finding Momoland.” The show was broadcast on Mnet from July 22 to September 16, 2016. The group was the product of the first season of the reality survival program “Produce 101.” The show was created by CJ E&M and aired on Mnet from January 22 to April 1, 2016. Only 11 contestants were able to make it to the final lineup out of a total of 101 trainees from various entertainment agencies who participated as contestants on the show. (Ideal of Idol), was formed as a result of a survival show. However, in the earlier generations of K-pop, not many groups had to go through a survival show to make their debut. In addition to personality and charm, trainees are evaluated on their abilities in singing, dancing, rapping, and many other areas, leading to an increasing number of K-pop groups emerging through survival shows in the fourth generation.

On January 27, 2023, MLD Entertainment announced that MOMOLAND officially disbanded. All members together with Hyebin, Jane, Nayun, JooE, Ahin and Nancy.

Fans are staying hopeful that Nayun can have extra alternatives within the performing discipline. JooE was the member who had the identical degree of recognition as Nancy.
