NBA Best Bets: Best prop bets for Hornets vs. Magic (Yardbarker)

The Charlotte Hornets take in the Orlando Magic this afternoon. Jason Radowitz is here to share his best player prop bets for the game.

He's added at least four assists in 56% of games this season and has done it in seven of his last ten games. Ball has reached eight or more rebounds in 65% of his last 20 games and should get plenty of rebound opportunities against a Magic team that isn't a good offensive team, to begin with. He's averaging about 31 minutes a night and has earned at least four assists in six of his last seven games. Nearly half of those shots are coming from downtown, and he's also getting to the foul line a few times per game. He's added seven or more rebounds in his last five games. The Magic have the edge in this game, especially analytically. The defense has allowed at least 114 in each of their last four games. But Charlotte still does the little things, like limiting turnovers to 13.6% and hauling 27.6% of offensive rebounds. He is a true volume shooter, and when he's hot, it's over for his opponents. He's added 23 points in four of his last five games and has a two-game streak of at least 23 points. That's one of the reasons why the total is sitting at 235.5 tonight. The Magic have only scored 111.7 points per 100 possessions this season.

After losing to Orlando, it's fair to wonder: Have we seen the last of a ... (Charlotte Observer)

LaMelo Ball scored 33 points and Terry Rozier added 24 but the Charlotte Hornets fell to the Orlando Magic 119-113 in an NBA game Sunday.

But obviously this time of year, a lot of guys might need a break and are ready to go on break. “Mark Williams has a chance to be really, really good in a fairly short period of time, so that’s the priority for right now. I came up through tough upbringings, and being on the court was my way of getting away from all that stuff. In part because of their expiring contracts after this season and in part because of their ability to potentially fit in seamlessly as a role player elsewhere. Which is why it feels inevitable that Plumlee will be shipped elsewhere in the coming days, allowing the Hornets to alleviate the logjam at center. But it’s not really tough by the time you get to this point in your career.” He’s turned in one of his best seasons at the most opportune time: months before he’s set to become an unrestricted free agent. The latest defeat for the Charlotte Hornets in a season chock full of them was complete, adding yet another failed effort to close out an opponent to their lengthy list. Plumlee’s season-long exploits leave the Hornets in a tricky but good position, one that could be rectified later this week before the deadline passes. The rookie had nifty back-to-back connections with LaMelo Ball for easy buckets, and also had an emphatic block on Franz Wagner. It’s become painfully obvious the Hornets (15-40) can’t simply stand pat with their current roster, not after losing their fourth straight game and continuing to sport one of the league’s worst records. He also posted at least three assists in each of Charlotte’s outings on the recent three-game road trip, which represented a career-long stretch.
