The Spurs will face the Bulls in their last home game before the Rodeo Road Trip.
It’s been an encouraging stretch for a player that looked a little lost earlier in the season but has been finding his place in the league lately. The Spurs are by far the worst defensive team in the league and have allowed over 120 points in four out of their last five games, but normally they can keep up by scoring a lot themselves. His mid-range game has been on point and he has been patient in looking for his shot or playing within the offense to get his buckets efficiently. In their win over the Blazers on Saturday, Zach LaVine went off for 36 points while DeMar DeRozan and Nikola Vucevis poured in 27 and 23, respectively. Their opponent will be a Bulls team coming off a big win over the Trail Blazers and looking to find some consistency. The losses have piled up, which is not bad news when it comes to draft odds but probably has the players feeling down.

While the number is hefty, I like the Bulls to cover this spread at home and continue their success. The injuries to their starters will continue to plague them in matchups where they can’t afford to get behind on the scoreboard. Caruso provides a huge boost for the Bulls on defense, so the return of Williams will be especially important as he is one of their best players on that side of the ball. The Chicago Bulls continue to fight for a spot in the Eastern Conference playoff race. They’ll be short a few ball handlers, so look for Jakob Poeltl to work the ball inside against the smaller Nikola Vucevic. The San Antonio Spurs come in to this game on the heels of an eight game losing streak.
The play-in tournament has done its job in dissuading tanking. Even a team that is of average construction and subpar performance, like the 2022-23 Chicago ...
Patrick Williams remains probable after participating in the last game. Patrick Williams, on losing to Spurs earlier this season: “Everybody knows how we felt in the locker room after that game. And we don’t want to feel that way again.”— K.C. If he says ‘well, we had a good stretch in blah blah blah drone on fall asleep...’ he’s not good at his job. It’s one thing for fans, and ‘observers’, to be fooled. The play-in tournament has done its job in dissuading tanking.
Chicago looks to win their third-straight game on Monday vs. San Antonio.
Devin Vassell (left knee) and Jeremy Sochan (low back) are out. Bulls: Patrick Williams (right ankle) is probable. Chicago outscored Portland 33-17 in the third to overcome an 11-point halftime deficit.
The Chicago Bulls have a grueling week of basketball ahead of them (four games in six days) but they got off on the right foot with a blowout 128-104 win ...
There were a ton of positives to takeaway from this game though with the younger players continuing to make slight progress and the bench picking up slack from the starters. It’s going to be an interesting next couple of days as the Bulls have two more games along with the trade deadline on Thursday. Drummond wasn’t the only player in double figures off the bench as Coby White continues his impressive stretch of play with 12 points and four assists. They outscored San Antonio by 19 in the final quarter and did so in quick fashion, allowing some of the bench guys to get minutes near the end. With DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine struggling for most of the game after a strong first quarter, it was two of Chicago’s centers who took the reins offensively. Chicago had a double digit lead at multiple points in the first three quarters but each time their opponent stormed back, even ended up taking the lead at a point in the third as it looked like it would be another tense night at the United Center.
