Stream It Or Skip It: 'Love To Hate You' On Netflix, Where A Woman ... (Decider)

The way the two romantic leads in this series meet is pretty contrived, even for a K-drama. But it's still very watchable.

Our Take: The circumstances around how Kang-ro and Mi-ran get together in Love To Hate You is about as contrived as it gets. Her character is an intriguing one, especially in a K-drama, and Kim plays her with a guilt-free, gleeful verve. She and Na-eun are going to room together, and Mi-ran is going to pay most of the rent. Mi-ran is a lawyer; she got a law degree against the wishes of her father. After that incident, she overhears Kang-ho ranting about his co-star to Won-jun, and she immediately puts him on her shit list. Won-jun tries to keep Kang-ho from talking to her, as requested by the director, because in the past he’s told his co-stars exactly how he feels, driving them away.

'Love to Hate You' (2023) Netflix Series: Extremely Funny Series on ... (Martin Cid Magazine)

Love to Hate You is a series directed by Kim Jung-kwon starring Kim Ok-bin and Yoo Teo.

To get over her crush on Won-jun, Na-eun tells him about her most embarrassing habits. It is not at all a Hollywood comedy, this series knows how to laugh at that and re-interpret in Korean style a genre we believed had little left to offer. Oh Se-na, an old flame, re-enters the picture. We are not sure if this is the series of the year, but we did find it really funny. but it does so gracefully and knows how to laugh at clichés and gender stereotypes. For a woman who despises losing to men and a man who distrusts women, love is absolute war, but the line between love and hate is very thin.

Love to Hate You Review: Revival of Heartwarming Rom-Com ... (Leisurebyte)

Love to Hate You (연애대전) is the latest romantic-comedy K-drama that premiered on February 10, 2023, on Netflix. Directed by Kim Jung-kwon, ...

The rom-com genre is finally reviving, and the show will be great to watch during Valentine’s week. The series is entertaining from the beginning till the end, with little to no dull moments. The dialogues remain precise, and each scene contains the substance to keep the show interesting. Feminist subjects were the major theme of the series, yet it lacked depth and followed the usual norms to display a “strong and self-sustaining” woman. However, the plot is predictable and not out of the ordinary. Yes, it is a cliched enemies-to-lovers plot, and yes, the story is predictable, but that does not take away from how incredibly it is executed.
