Jujutsu Kaisen: How Gojo & Nanami's Perspectives on Youth Have ... (CBR)

Though they seem like polar opposites, Nanami and Gojo have surprisingly similar attitudes towards youth that have influenced Yuji in Jujutsu Kaisen.

[Gojo, meanwhile, understands his students](https://www.cbr.com/jujutsu-kaisen-gojo-may-escape-prison-realm-find-familiar-chaos/) are in life-threatening situations day in and day out but doesn't think that should prevent them from enjoying their lives. [Being the strongest sorcerer](https://www.cbr.com/jujutsu-kaisen-anime-manga-satoru-gojo-burden-world-strongest-sorcerer/) in Jujutsu Kaisen, Gojo grew up with the weight of everyone's expectations on his shoulders and may have felt forced to grow up too soon. He felt that the mundanity of working in a cubicle and thinking about money drained his soul, effectively robbing him of whatever youth he had left. Nanami recognized this and reminded him that, though he's chosen a dangerous line of work, Gojo showed Yuji the basics of cursed energy mastery, but he just wouldn't be suited for showing him the ropes during a mission -- and that was where Nanami came in. When Gakuganji orchestrated the boy's death, Gojo was rightfully infuriated and told Kiyotaka, "I still haven't forgiven them for taking a young person's youth away." In reference to Yuta Okkotsu, Gojo walked out of a meeting with the higher-ups and said to himself, "It's unforgivable to steal the youth away from kids." Their perspective on youth -- the idea that somebody shouldn't force themselves to grow up too fast -- likely stems from years of experience with jujutsu sorcery. [Compared to the latter's carefree attitude](https://www.cbr.com/chainsaw-man-denji-jujutsu-kaisen-gojo-both-became-father-figures/) and unorthodox approach to teaching, Nanami takes everything seriously and often muses about the "good ol' days" despite being a 27-year-old man. [Jujutsu Kaisen](https://www.cbr.com/tag/jujutsu-kaisen/)'s Kento Nanami and Satoru Gojo seem like polar opposites. Gojo often says nobody has the right to steal someone's youth and wants to ensure his students live their best years to the fullest -- despite choosing a career in the gritty world of jujutsu sorcery. Still, he always reminded Yuji Itadori that he was just a kid and begged him not to force himself to grow up too soon.

Isnโ€™t Yuji just a child, sentenced to death but trying his best to make peopleโ€™s lives better? Told him that it is okay to leave the dirty work to the elders. It is in many ways similar to Junpeiโ€™s death. The man had had a few close shaves with his death earlier too. Instead of burdening Yuji with some sort of legacy, he gently left his encouragement behind. He is a stickler for rules and has an upright personality.

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Drops Emotional Gojo and Geto Update (Comicbook.com)

Jujutsu Kaisen has been steadily gearing up to return for the anime's second season later this Summer, and a new update about what to expect has teased an ...

What can be teased for those not caught up with the manga, however, is that this mission in particular is what Gojo and Geto are alluding to when they talk with one another during the events of the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 prequel film. This arc dives into Gojo and Geto's days in Jujutsu Tech together with the third member of their team, Shoko Ieiri, and a new update about their characters during this arc teases the big mission that will serve to pull them apart at a major crossroads. One of the biggest teases from the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 prequel film was not that it took place a year before the events of the main series (and introduced Yuta Okkotsu as a major player), but that there was a shared past between Gojo and the main villain Geto as they attended Jujutsu Tech as two powerful sorcerers working together on the same squad.
