Lakers vs Suns Preview, Starting Time, TV Schedule, Injury Report (Silver Screen and Roll)

The Lakers will have to rely on their depth and of course, Anthony Davis' dominance to will them to victory in this one.

This is noteworthy since the Wolves are one of the teams the Lakers are trying to catch in the play-in race and will soon go up against in this final stretch. (G-League) and Cole Swider (G-League) are also going to be inactive due to South Bay Lakers duties. - And as expected, the Lakers will be without Mo Bamba (left ankle sprain) and LeBron James (right foot soreness). The Lakers also need to do their job by getting Davis more involved in their actions and finding him in the post early. [ infamous Andre Drummond troll made its rounds ](https://twitter.com/MiguelZen1/status/1586273898571526144/photo/1)on the internet. There is no way the Lakers can win against the Suns if Davis plays like he did in the past two games, which is why the Lakers’ faith in this one is on his shoulders. The Lakers’ bench (who had a positive net rating compared to the starters last Sunday) came up huge against Orlando, and they’ll have to do the same if they want a chance in this one. With two days of rest, it’s going to be interesting to see how he responds, and whether or not he makes up for his previous subpar performances by shooting better from the field. This shouldn't be the night where the Lakers struggle from the perimeter and let a random player like Cam Payne or even Damion Lee (who are all capable shooters) get hot from downtown. They carelessly let their margin of error slip away and because of that, games like Wednesday’s against the [Phoenix Suns](https://www.brightsideofthesun.com), are way way more crucial than it was supposed to be. With that said, here’s what will determine the outcome of Wednesday’s game against the Suns: Because right now, it’s looking like the Lakers’ play-in faith will likely be determined until the last few games of the season.

Suns vs. Lakers Odds, Pick, Prediction | NBA Betting Preview (March ... (The Action Network)

Brandon Anderson previews Wednesday's NBA game between the Suns and Lakers, including betting odds and a prediction.

The Suns are favored in this game, but I can’t get there. LA also leads the league in free throws attempted while the Suns rank dead last in free throws allowed, so that could lead to a ton of easy points for the Lakers, especially in a big home game with a potentially kind whistle. The content on this page is for informational purposes only. The Lakers almost never send opponents to the line — a skill wasted on the Suns, who don’t get there much anyway — but defend hard and have gotten even better since adding in Jarred Vanderbilt and some of the other pieces they picked up in the Westbrook deal. Los Angeles ranks bottom five in 3s made and 3-point percentage, and the Lakers are relatively inefficient on 2s. The Lakers have a winning record at home, while the Suns are 12-21 on the road not including those three Durant games. [points](https://www.actionnetwork.com/nba/props/points) in all but one of them. The Lakers sit at -0.4 Net Rating on the season and continue to scrap for every win. They got only three games out of Durant so far and are just trying to get to the playoffs whole and figure it out there. The team’s Net Rating is up overall thanks to going +39 in those three Durant wins, but the team is struggling. The Lakers are fighting and clawing for every win at this point. As for the Suns offense?

Lakers not feeling pressure as sprint to the finish begins (Los Angeles Times)

The Lakers have 10 games to clinch a playoff spot or qualify for the play-in tournament, and coach Darvin Ham says there's no pressure, only focus.

And just to constantly love and live in the paint. We can’t out them on the free-throw line and have to be aware of them in transition. And we have to hold them to one possession. “You know, to come out and just try to be the best version of ourselves as always. Just looking to continue to build on what we’re doing great and try to change and alleviate what we’re not doing so great,” Ham said. That was the first game after the trade deadline when the Ham said Tuesday there’s no change for the Lakers on the injury front. “It’s caused them to come to the game on high alert and high awareness,” he said. While the game against Phoenix is important, so is the one Friday against Oklahoma City. You’d be surprised how comfortable guys are with that as opposed to having to play a meaningless game. I see a bit of hunger.” “Just having something to play for.

Lakers vs Suns Pick – NBA Predictions & Odds 3/22/23 (Sports Chat Place)

The Phoenix Suns paya visit to the Los Angeles Lakers at the Crypto.com Arena on Wednesday night. The Phoenix Suns have been in a bit of a rut as they've.

The Lakers are 5-2 ATS in their last seven home games, 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games playing on two days rest and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall. As a team, the Suns shot 47 percent from the field and 15 of 36 from the 3-point line as they poured in 69 points in the first half to build a 15-point lead, but they never put the Thunder away and it cost them as the Thunder went on a ferocious 23-4 run in the fourth quarter to snatch the game away from them in the end. The Phoenix Suns have been in a bit of a rut as they’ve lost four of their last five games overall and they will be hoping to bounce back here after coming up short against the Thunder in a 124-120 road loss on Sunday.

[[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]). I’ll take the Suns as one-point favorites tonight." The Lakers have continued to play some of their best basketball of the season without James in the lineup and they would’ve taken plenty of confidence from their gritty win over the Magic in their last outing. The Lakers have struggled at home recently, going 0-3 SU and 1-2 ATS in their last 3 home games and there is a solid case to be made for backing the SUNS -1.5 (-105)." Regardless, the Suns have no Ayton and no Durant. That allows for them to space the floor a bit more, and I think they can outshoot a Lakers team that is in the bottom half of the league in 3-point shooting this season. The Suns have gone off the boil over their past five games or so and they will be kicking themselves after dropping a winnable game against the Thunder on Sunday. It has the point total going over. Suns vs Lakers Picks and Predictions: AD Takes Advantage With DA ... (Covers.com)

NBA odds, picks, and predictions for the Phoenix Suns at Los Angeles Lakers on March 22. NBA betting best bet and free pick analysis.

Los Angeles was running out one of the faster paces in the NBA but since losing James as their motor in transition, L.A.’s pace rating has dipped to 99.86 (12th) over the last 11 games. Phoenix owns an offensive rating of 110.4 during this current five-game slump and hasn’t been able to counter than on the defensive end, lugging a -6.6 net rating in this span. Ayton’s injury also leaves the Suns susceptible to foul troubles and mismatches in the frontcourt versus a talent like Davis, with backup centers Even the loss of LeBron hasn’t hurt the Lakers’ work on the defensive end that much, with a 110.9 rating since he went down in late February (second). The Suns have also seen a downtick in their offensive efforts without Durant on the floor, however, we only got a small sample size before he went down with an ankle injury. [Anthony Davis](https://www.covers.com/sport/basketball/nba/players/2013/anthony-davis) during this stretch, who hasn’t had the best series of showings in March. The Suns are coming off a rough loss in Oklahoma City on Sunday, in which they held a 15-point lead and controlled the game until the fourth quarter. The Suns are 2-4 SU and 1-5 ATS since Durant injured his ankle in warmup against OKC back on March 8. However, Los Angeles got right with a win over Orlando on Sunday, thanks in large part to 61 points from the bench. The Lakers are on the cusp of qualifying for the Western Conference play-in tournament, sitting in 11th place entering Wednesday. That will force the ball out of his hands and see L.A. 4 seed in the Western Conference standings but sliding backwards after losing three of its last four outings, including a stop in Oklahoma City to start this current three-game road trip.

Anthony Davis and Jarred Vanderbilt especially, averaging an incredible combined 20.7 rebounds per game. Should Booker have to shade over, the Lakers will get cleaner looks from deep to hopefully connect at a higher rate. With two of their best players out, oddsmakers opened the Suns as a -2 favorite on the road. Even though history hasn’t been on their side in their last nine contests against the Suns, my prediction is that Davis takes over against a weak interior and carries the Lakers to a win.
