However, as the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) raised the alert level to 2, the beauty of these lush fields turned into a potential danger zone. In light of this geological drama, popular tourist attractions in the area like the Kanlaon Inland Resort, Padudusan Falls, and Bao-Bao Viewing Deck have temporarily closed their gates, much to the dismay of thrill-seekers and nature lovers.

With a growing sense of urgency, the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) has advised residents in close proximity to Mount Kanlaon to prepare for possible evacuation as volcanic unrest looms like an unwanted guest at a party. Approximately 300 residents have been forced to leave their homes as the volcano shows signs of increased threat. This evacuation is taking place within a 4-kilometer radius of the Permanent Danger Zone (PDZ), which adds a layer of skepticism to the saying, "you can take the farmer out of the field, but you can't take the field out of the farmer."
